Starting out at the meadow

It is chilly and starting to snow

The snow makes for pretty hiking. Setting up camp was a trick. Snapped a tent pole.

Duct tape and an hour gave a working tent. Then the stove wouldn't work so dinner was cold.

The next morning, the stove worked OK so I packed up a few quarts of boiling water, my gear and set out. This is slant rock lean-to.

The wind on little haystack was strong enough that I was blown over a crevice. It was blowing snowballs out of Panther gorge.
