September Trip over Rocky Peak Ridge Again and Again

I took a September trip to see if the leaves were nice. Click on images for a larger view.

I set up a base camp in the trail-less Dix region and hiked to New Russia. A sheep along the way.

It basically rained all day, but some early glimpses were OK.

Neat mushrooms.

Nice clouds and rocks.

The second day I returned and did the same route.

Hoping for a break in weather that never came.

The result was two incredibly long days of hiking in the rain.

And some great exercise.

The second day a few people were coming across the ridge. I heard a horrible scream and breaking trees near the pond on the ridge.

I expected to find an injured person, but soon passed someone in sweat pants with a foot long rip in the crotch. I didn't ask.
