Hike during Floyd Part 1

Wet start during Floyd

I set up a tarp at base camp in the trail-less Dix basin, but everything was soaked.

I set out to New Russia to climb Giant. The rain continued and I had to wade and make new routes to avoid the wild river. This is the swimming hole on the North Boquet.

Normally you can step across the river on the upper rocks.

The rain continued and I was nearly blown off Rocky Peak Ridge.

As I descended off Giant, the weather finally began to break.

The next day was glorious. This is a view of Dix from spotted mountain.

Another view of Dix.
