Shoe box Falls was low and calm |
I headed out for a climb of Whiteface from Connery Pond. I spooked lots of grouse and eventually made it to Lake Placid |
Here is Whiteface landing |
The weather switched between sun, rain and cloud for the entire trip. Here is a view of the ski trail |
Above treeline |
Climbing under the clouds |
The summit of Whiteface. I definietley like this approach to Whiteface |
As I headed back to camp, the sun came out near Keene, so I scrambled up Hurricane mountian |
where I sneaked a peek at the Jay wilderness under the clouds |
Summit marker |
But it soon was raining |
And I had dinner in the rain |
The rain stopped, so I visited the beaver dam |
and saw a beaver |
Breakfast at the roadside swimming hole |
The trailhead to Jay Mt |
In the clouds yuk |
A peak |
Stream bed rocks on a summit |
Clouds lifting |
But the real Jay Mt is quite bit further |
A stump |
The Jay ridge |
Visited by another Raven perhaps |
Lunch time |
View of the Whiteface ski slopes |
and a storm crossing Lake Champain |
And a return to a sunny shoe box falls. But it was raining before I packed up and got gear back to the car. |
