 We began heading toward Noonmark, here reaching Round pond |
 followed by lots of climbing |
 nearing the summit |
 a nice place to hang out |
 tree growth away from the wind |
 on the top rock |
 a grand view of the great range |
 we pack into shoe box falls to base camp |
 and set up a primitive camp |
 The next day we head to climb Colden |
 reaching Marcy Dam |
 and Lake Arnold |
 nearing the summit |
 we rest |
 and take a long lunch hoping the clouds will lift |
 we give up on waiting |
 and descend |
 to Lake Colden |
 we cross the Opalescent river |
 and hike around the lake |
 eventually reaching Avalanche lake |
 with its huge cliffs |
 and rugged trail |
 pausing to check out an avalanche |
 we return to camp and the next morning enjoy breakfast at Shoe box falls before heading back to Easton |
