Hike with Andrew, Bryon and Joe July 2007

Reaching a swimming hole	and a river crossing	and another
we take in Shoe box falls and	set up a camp on the ridege	photographer at work
recrossing in the morning	breakfast in a bag at Cascade Lake	the lake
roadside	climber	view from north elba
we head in from south meadow on the hike proper	reaching a breeched beaver dam	wild animals
oh wow	a dam	Marcy Dam
we pose	totally in control	this rock is fall on your &$$ slippery
careful crossing	the view from Indian falls	the falls
the hike is boardwalk easy (sometimes)	we reach a view of big slide	Marcy looms
we step above treeline in a blink	alpine bog	a good scramble
lots of cotton sedge	a single puff	climbing high
a viewful rest	mountain goldenrod	the summit
calls for lunch	an intense descent	a knee jarring descent full of views
mountain sandwort	orange hawkweed	target lichen and lake tear of the clouds
something to look at?	a flume	calm from below
leaping for a view	more falls	spred falls from above
and from below	crossing the Opalescent	Colden dam rest
Avalanche lake	its rock hung trail	its views of Colden
tricky route	end of the lake	but not the mud
Avalanche Pass	the remnants of an avalanche	back to Marcy Dam
back to the beaver dam	next morning we get to break camp in the rain	with the wet crossings that brings
