Snowshoeing to Etown #4, Round and Noonmark
April 2011

We head along the herdpath toward Etown #4	then climb	away from the river
then down and	to Livingston pond	which we cross
carefully placing his pole	a good climb through the woods reaching steep and open	climbing bare pawed
to views	almost past the steep	great view of Giant
heading upward with gloves	and views	the sun battles clouds all the way
seeking protection from the wind	with a bootleg sandwich	time to head down
back to the open and steep	sun still battling clouds	last views
a pose on the pond	camp in	drying boots and socks with newspaper
heading to round	with a steep ascent through hemlocks	hints of views to come
lots of climbing	sun makes it way into the woods	trees get shorter
first grand views	mosey along the summit	trailside seat
geese heading north	we pose	and enjoy a break out of the wind
unweathered anorthosite exposed	heading down	an old beaver pond
we climb toward noonmark	the sky beckons	we pose
and enjoy great views of Giant	the Great Range	and Dix
time to descend	first down a ledge	enjoying the view
descending carefully	with a smile	and a pause to brush off snow
