Indian Pass and MacNaughton

Beginning at Tahawus	the trail passes lovely old trees	hobblebush
painted trillium	streambeds with sharp edged gravel	a glimpse of Indian Pass
climb among huge boulders	grand view from summit rock	view among the boulders
red trillium in the pass	usual wet slippery descent	to the next junction
I take a wet cut to Scotts clearing	get a view of the old dam	and listen to a black capped chickadee
lots of wetland on the way to Scotts pond	nearing the pond where I break	snow on the trail
and worse near Wallface pond	but the pond is low	outlet between ponds
a scramble to the summit	then descending the other side	soon the stream defines a pathway
and then	a wonderful	sequence
of	waterfalls	a half flume too wet to follow today
but it is a fine sight	last falls	back on the trail enjoying wetlands
an old pully	Preston pond	log for a trail
across the river and then back to upper works
