Marcy and Skylight amidst Fall Colors

Slipping out of south meadow among the red pines	daylight is coming	Marcy Dam crossing gone, spillway breached
the pond emptied	new trails where the old were washed out	splendid view from indian falls
the stream leading to the slide on Wright looks like it will offer a fun climb	muddy trail on the shoulder	above treeline
heading for the summit as the clouds move in	view toward Colden	into the clouds
with occasional glimpses underneath	lovely grass	and red leaves
hikers descend	soon to treeline on Skylight	a fine place for lunch
last view of Marcy	reaching the first flume on the Opalescent	and more
roots	waterfalls and swimming holes	wide falls
roots along colden	Algonquin range	macro maple
reaching Avalanche Lake	Dike washed out	fine views
last look	back to the new trail	a colorful return along the old
ranger road	return to the colorful view in New Russia
