Colden and Chapel Pond with Luis, Fabian and Hubert

At the south Meadow trailhead	first stream crossing	reaching south meadow
which offers photo opportunities	a bird feeding in the mud	the real ascent begins here
reaching lake arnold	photos	a smile
first views	lunch on a knob with windy views	the actual summit of Colden
pose on the knob	then it is down	and up
trail goes under a rock	pose on top	another rock beckons
alpine goldenrod on the summit	we pose	above lake colden and flowed lands
lookout	steep descent	exposed path still in the alpine zone
between rocks	lots more to descend	reaching
lake colden	it is dark at the end of avalanche lake	but for a blink of sunshine
it rains as we walk along the lake	taking photos from a ledge	looking up for two mountains
to the end of	avalanche lake	and back to marcy dam
first moments of paddling	are wet	made it to the outlet
returning to the main pond	sunshine	surrounded by rock
		looking for a place to jump in
