Giant, RPR and Swimming Holes with REU

Gathering at the first lookout	with a distant view of climbers	and the next lookout
over chapel pond	Giant's washbowl	bridge over dry where it is usually very wet
steep climbs continue	reaching open rock	nice places to rest
scrambles through beautiful rock and trees	wave ahead	another rest
more climbing	traffic jam near the top	onto the summit of Giant
lovely views	steep	rugged
descent	toward	Rocky Peak Ridge
	rest on the summit of RPR	view of the great range
the Dix wilderness	then we head eastward along the ridge	descending through garden like vegetation
Lake Marie Louise	viewpoints	around the lake
looking back along the ridge	looking south	lovely moss
the east shoulder of RPR beckons	a view of camp	a rest
time to roll again	a glance north to the firetower on Hurricane	climbing
	Bald peak is next	a birch woods in the col
Jaxson decides we aremore fun to hike with than his owner	an erratic	on Bald
but still	lots of descending to go	nose bleed
We pass by a swimming hole on the swimming hole tour	we do some stream	crossings
find a frog	wander upstream	a frog of another color
descending to the swimming hole	jump	refreshing

sunning	stone pile	departing
lower level of split rock falls	jumping into the middle level	a wave from that level
