Owlshead Lookout, Hammond Pond, and Marcy with Ru

Bridge	bridge on the trail	split tree
almost there	we rest, no view	nice summit
heading back down	afternoon brings hike on blueberry hills	modest views
american newt	below the cliffs	unloading at the hammond pond trailhead
registering	reaching the pond	dueling cameras
onto the water	Ru is too	someone has been eating
following the shore	toward a huge beaver lodge	following a channel
to a low, wide beaver dam	we take a break	continue along
a pond lily	we paddle through them	and get out near an inlet
onto an old woods road	an ad hoc bridge	very vague herdpath
between	rocks it goes	we reach Bloody pond as a thunderstorm strikes
back we go	to the boats	and paddle to the trail
we stop at Split Rock falls	heading to Marcy from south meadows	reaching the breached Marcy Dam
for a break	climbing to Indian falls	and dry socks
and a pose	just 1.2 miles	we can see Marcy
and take a break	lots of climbers	into the alpine zone
great views	a wet pocket	up we head
a bird	a scramble	we made it
tagging the top	drying socks	supporting a cairn
lapland rosebay	cotton sedge	more in the wet pocket
back to Indian falls	sock exchange	heading away from the beautiful stream
