Trail to Severance goes under I87	a nice climb	king of the rock
view of Schroon Lake	and Paradox Lake	heading for Buck and Bear (Etown No 5)
ready to ford the Schroon river	and drive under I87	we are not the only ones parking near the gate
West mill brook "trail"	we cross the brook	easy going for a bit
lots of cliffs on no name bump	no views from the bump -- no need to climb it	views as we climb Buck
vegetation	and open rock

back to the marsh mouth	the opening to the lake	sandbars
we paddle the lake to the mouth of the south branch	we land	and lunch
heading up the south branch	spying	the rail bridge
bridge over the north branch	via a new short connection	but the north branch is closed
we carry	and walk	until we can paddle again
a great blue heron	we finish our loop	Zach at the road that begins the route to the 3 trailless Santanoni peaks
an american newt	a new bridge	reaching the cascades
that	tell us the herdpath is nearby	crossing the brook
reaching a beaver dam	mud, mud, mud	climb,climb, climb
reaching views through the trees	steep rock	scrambles
view toward Marcy	and a bit further south	we reach Santanoni
a view of Couchsachraga and Panther	duelling cameras	view toward the seward range
progress toward Couchsachraga	a view back	a viewless summit
timefor new socks	heading down Couchsachraga	and hours later, up Panther
looking back	a marker	a peak
over the tree views east	down to water	herdpath heads into the woods
along cliffs	to a beaver dam	back to the trail
